Guest guest
Hi : I have read that GFCF diet isn't good to be on when testing for Celiac. Here is the archive for labs that has recommended in the past. It might help printing off the abstract to show to your doctor. /message/57899 Abstract /message/53124 Blood tests to consider for kids with apraxia /message/63301 HLA info /message/59213 Malabsorption study Hope these are helpful, Tina > > Hi everyone, > > I'm new to this world and have been trying to keep up with the immense > amount of knowledge and wisdom found on this group. Guest guest
Hi . We just had our DAN appt on Jan 4th and when I made it in early December I asked if I could start doing GFCF and she specifically said NO, not until we order tests bc the child needs to be in a 'natural state.' I did begin introducing certain GF items like crackers, cereals and such so at least it wouldn't all be totally foreign to my son. Since we have completed the testing (but do not yet have results) we are moving closer and closer to full GF and noticing issues when non-GF stuff makes its way in. So, we feel on the right track. I was SOOOO very anxious to get going but realized the importance of starting out with a good baseline for the DAn to review and move forward from. Sit tight....... and use this time before testing to take copious notes of behaviors with various foods and such. Good luck! > > Hi everyone, > > I'm new to this world and have been trying to keep up with the immense > amount of knowledge and wisdom found on this group. Guest guest
Thanks for that list of links! I'll have a look! I have the following test kits here at home from the Great Plain Lab: Organic Acid, Food and Inhalant Allergy, and Metals testing. I was thinking of sending this stuff out and getting the results, then taking them to the DAN doc appointment. That way I could have one less appointment to pay for since there is no way our insurance will cover it. Perhaps I should have a look at these labs you provided and cross reference to make sure I'm not leaving anything out. -
Guest guest
As someone whose kids were on the diet and we are trying to backtrack to see what natural state is I can tell you Elaine is doing right by you. > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > I'm new to this world and have been trying to keep up with the > immense > > amount of knowledge and wisdom found on this group. Guest guest
We're starting down this road as well. We've started with the Omega 3, 6, 9 oil, but we're also preparing for more tests. Should we stop the Fish oil until after the testing? Thanks, > > Hi everyone, > > I'm new to this world and have been trying to keep up with the immense > amount of knowledge and wisdom found on this group.
