Guest guest
Here I am three days on the other side! So far so good, the ony issue I have is getting extremely tired about every 4 to 5 hours. I have managed to get my walking in in between naps. Yesterday I walked just under 2 and 1/2 miles, today was just over 2 & 1/2 miles. Yesterday morning I thought,I would save the prescribed pain killer for bed time at night, but that thought began to be revised during my first walk, then by my second walk I knew that there was no way I was going to make it until the evening, and keep moving. I realize that some of the tiredness is due to the lortab, and will pass as I ween myself off that stuff. I can feel the fog beginning to take over. I had a couple of questions, but they will have to wait until later. Take care everyone! It is great to be on the other side! Donna

Guest guest
Congrats to the Other Side!! I'm 11 days out and I've not experienced any of the tiredness your speaking of. It's normal, you did just have major surgery. Do the best you can at trying to improve everyday. Everday it gets better and better.. trust me!! LISA > > Here I am three days on the other side! Guest guest
Hi Donna I'm Donna also and that's how I sign off. I am 11 months post op. I will sign Donna Jordon from now on so people know who's who, this group is growing so big. You're tired no just from the pain medicine, you will find once you're off the pain medicine you will have energy, then just run down to tired and need a nap. You will go through this as your body has just gone through major surgery and it needs rest to heal. I was tired really a lot and needed naps until I was about 5 months out. You do go back to work and a nap may be at your desk for a 10 minute break, you work around things as your energy builds with time. Glad to hear you are doing good. Welcome to the other side, and to the group. Take care. Donna Jordonbaird4258 wrote: Here I am three days on the other side! Guest guest
Some people don't get tired the first week or so, then their body does go down and they get tired. Others get tired right from the get go, and few don't get the run down feeling. Hopefully you're one of them. How long it last depends on ones own body. Glad to hear you're doing so well. Take care. Guest guest
Donna, Thanks for the info. I think the reason the tiredness has bothered me is that it is not a tired all the time feeling, I generally feel great then like you said, very quickly I realize I have to sleep. Well like you said, I am sure that once I am off the pain meds that will not happen as severely or as often. How about I sign my stuff Donna B? Again Thanks Donna B. --- Donna Jordon wrote: > Hi Donna > I'm Donna also and that's how I sign off. I am 11 > months post op. Guest guest
Hi Donna, Glad to hear you are doing well. Did you have your surgery at SSF on Wednesday, March 8th? Three of us met at the pre-op class and were supposed to have surgery on the same day with Dr. Lee and Dr. Umbach. Cherie and I ended up across the hall from each other, but Donna was no where to be found. I went home the next day and never saw her. I was hoping everything worked out for the best and she just ended up in another part of the hospital. Cathy > > Here I am three days on the other side! Guest guest
Hi Cathy, Yes I did! I am glad to hear that you did well too! Cherie and I saw each other the morning of the 9th when she walked past my room, then again as we were leaving at the same time! I look forward to seeing you the 25th in the post class! Take care Donna B > > > > Here I am three days on the other side! So far so good, the ony issue > > I have is getting extremely tired about every 4 to 5 hours.
