Guest guest
I have been doing some research on dry eye's. Found out there are 3 types of eye lubricants. two are esentially water like and the other is an oil based. I saw 5 different doctors in the practice. After 4 eye doc's I saw my origional surgeon who recommended bausch and lomb SOOTHE XP--they are sterile mineral oil drops this is one of three types of the lubricants-it is the oil bases tears. You can get in any bigger grocery stores or pharmacies. in just two days my eyes were cured. They are a special minerol oil that replaces the middle type of oily t ears made by your body. Guest guest
I've not used them-- but if they are over the counter-- then generally they are ok. What we don't want to use is the old " get the red out " drops. Those had stuff that shrinks the capillaries and ends up restricting blood and tear production. Any of the Hypo-allergenic drops, TEARS PLUS, HYPO-TEARS, SUSTANE, are great. RESTASIS IS BY PRESCRIPTION AND FOR SEVERE DRY EYE, caused by inflammation of the lacrimal glands. There is a new one that works much the same way that is again by prescription--so it is beng sampled in the offices. One thing that you may want to do is to ask your Ophthalmologist if they have samples (they even get the over the counter stuff) that you can try before you buy.
