I now am at 185 from 286 a year ago. Some of the weight I lost before

surgery (10%) and the other in the last 6 months. I am thrilled but I

am also tripping a little. I go through platues and then bam! It just

melts away. It is almost a little scary at times. I want to know if

anyone else has gone through this........Why the fear? I also seem to

be getting tired again. I seem to need more sleep.

Thanks for the ear.

I know what you mean Cecilia. I have gone from 289 to 183. I had the surgery on Aug 8, 2005 and I am now wearing a size 14. I was feeling pretty exhausted. I went to the doctor and she started me on B12 shots twice a week. I am feeling much better. I also take vitamins daily and she prescribed a vitamin for hair, teeth and skin. It is in German but my gums feel better since I started taking them. I live in Germany and had the surgery here. I can speak some German but I tell you what, it was really funny being in a German hospital and not fully comprehending what was going on. The nurses were very sweet to me. I hardly complained because I wanted them to take extra care of me. Being in another country is different. I needed to be treated with extra patience because of the language barrier. They thought I was such a sweet American that they

kept visiting me and checking on me. Another American was in the room with me but she didn't get the same treatment as I. I am a very touchy person and I would hold the nurses hands and speak softly of my pain. They were very compassionate with me and I had such an easy time in my recuperation. Now when I go to the doctor's office, I just say, "My hair is falling out, can you help me?" and then they prescribe me with a vitamin. Or I just told them simply, "I am so tired, can you help me?" and they started giving me 2 shots a week of B12. I am feeling so much better and my energy level is much higher. My gums were receding(sp?) but now they are so much better. My gums were bleeding too. But not anymore. Gosh, I have been so blessed with my care. I totally understand your tiredness (if thats a word?).... See your doctor and let them

know about this. There probably is a vitamin deficiency. You may be eating the right foods but it may not be enough. Like I figured out that I was only eating about 700 - 800 calories. That is not even the recommended count. But I still can't eat very much. Thats another reason why I lose weight in spurts. Last month I wore size 16...Then I tried on an outfit that was size 14 and it fit. I was happy and excited and I was dancing around my house. My kids started laughing cuz lord knows I have no rhythm. ha ha Take care. Junior cecilia wrote: I now am at 185 from 286 a year ago. Cecilia If you're tired doing the time of weight melt away, this is normal. Your body is changing and adjusting. If your tired all the time, make sure your labs are fine. We do have ups and downs with the weight lose, platues and melt away. Plus if we change things, exercise a while, then don't, same with water, the way we eat on and on. Even if you stay right with everything the platues come. I never had the fear part, I was just excited when it melted. I started at 270 in Nov. 2004, surgery April 11th, 2005 and was at 150 goal by Sept.2005, but decided to keep going and by Jan 2006 down to 138. I go up and down between 137 to 140 and I would like to get to 135, but I am really happy here so who knows. I stay on track still and want to stay in my size 6, I don't want to be any smaller. I came from a size tight 24 pants. So don't fear if you're eating your 3 protein meals and getting enough

protein, drinking your water, taking your vitamins, and exercising, your body will do right by you. I still eat 3 protein meals a day, do everything else and I don't melt weight any more, your body will stop when you get to the right weight if your doing what you are suppose to. You are doing great and congratulation on the great weight lose. Take care. Donna cecilia wrote: I now am at 185 from 286 a year ago.
