Something tells me that many r-n-y'ers got bad information when

they did their own research and now that they must live with the

results of their procedure, they try to perpetrate a negative

impression of the DS.>>>>>>>>

Exactly, Gobo! and one RNYer has already admitted this to me!

No miprint or criss-cross, people who have had the RNY have told me that the

RNY has a higher average weight loss than the DS. I swear! They have said

that to me. One lady even told me that the RNY is the " gold standard " of

WLS. I was reading that thinking " gold standard, and you can't eat but

three bites and you might even throw those up? "

Oh heck yeah! Me too. In a heart beaat. I'm glad to hear the RNY myth is

not reality. Makes me even more sure that I want the DS.

That's what I've wondered. Plus isn't the DS a newer surgery than the RNY?

Maybe they wish they could have had it done rather than the RNY, but since

they couldn't they tend to make negative remarks about the DS.

REALLY?! Wow. They actually admitted it to you? What did this person say,

if you don't mind telling me?

the RNY is the " gold standard " of

WLS. >>>>>

well, the DS is considered the " Platinum " which is much more rare! <grin>

I even had one lady try to tell me her surgeon said he has done 4-5

revisions from the DS to the RNY yet she could not show me where or tell me

any information to check that out! You can say anything and not back it up

and that ought to raise flags!

? What did this person say,

that she was disappointed that she couldnt eat much or have any sweets and

hated the feeling of dumping and that if she could do it over again she

would have had the DS (her husband wants the DS after talking with us and

observing her)

She attributed her getting the RNY as in a hurry becuz she wasnt willing to

wait and do it right.......
