Kay Independent Beauty Consultant http://www.marykay.com/koopmans I have all your summer care needs...tanning lotion, sunblock, even sunblock for your lips, get yours today! Intro Hi there. My name is Robin and I'm a newbie on this list. I live in Houston, TX and I am about 10 months out from VBG surgery and just found out last week that I'm pregnant. I'm so excited, yet scared. I've read the faq, and I still have lots of questions. Is there anyone else out there who had VBG? Were people able to continue losing after the baby? If I'm still so new to post-op from VBG, is there chance I might not gain a lot during the pregnancy? Should I worry about that at all? I'm trying to continue to watch what I eat and all that, but just make sure I get enough nutrients and such. I would love to talk to others who have been or are in the same situation as I. Guest guest
Hi . Yes, this is my first. So, not only am I worried about all the WLS stuff, but I'm just very much nervous in general. I've got the tiredness thing going all the time. I'm only about 5 weeks pregnant, so I'm still knocking on wood that I haven't been nausous. But both my mother and grandmother had easy pregnancies for all of their children, so I hope I'm just as lucky! Guest guest
Hi , Welcome! My name is Sharyn I'm 36 and have a 9 1/2 year old son. I was diagnosed with pcos in 1986. I felt lucky to have conceived my son after 4 years of trying. I had wls (short medial) in November 2002. I was about 10lbs from goal when I found out I was pregnant for my 2nd time. After nearly 9 years of wanting another child we had pretty much given up all hope. Since having wls my cycles still arent completely regular but they are more regular than they ever have been in my entire life. I'm happy to say and I was much surprised when I found out I was pregnant back in March, like so many other women who have had wls. I'm now 36 weeks pregnant expecting my 2nd son in the next couple of weeks. I have had some complications but they have nothing to do with wls or my age. Just the luck of the draw. Anyway... I just wanted to welcome you to the group. There are a lot of us with pcos in this group I've noticed. Good luck ttc. Sharyn and baby Adam wrote: I am 1 1/2 yrs post op, open RNY proximal.... My starting weight was 367.5 and I have dropped 140 lbs and have been at a stable weight for 6 months. I have 2 wonderful children, a girl age 12 and a boy age 7. I lost an ovary with my daughter (she was a first try baby) and it took us a year to conceive my son. After his birth we didn't use any birth control (for nearly 7 years) and no baby.... 5 years ago I was diagnosed with PCOS which explained not having a period for up to a year at a time etc.... I was on the pill for a year after surgery and have been off of it for 6 months now. Since the weight drop I was excited to see if my cycles would return... THEY HAVE! They are 28-30 days apart and pretty predictable. But still, no baby. I am wondering if this has something to do with only having one ovary, from the PCOS or what *sigh*. I just purchased a Fertility monitor on ebay.. hoping to find out if I am even ovulating *fingers crossed*. Anyway, that's my story in a nutshell. Glad to have found this group! Guest guest
Hi ! I know a friend that still had both ovaries but one tube was removed. SHe ovulated from each ovary but with alternating months. So what Im thinking, is maybe you only ovulate every other month. You can still have a period even if you dont ovulate. And with your one ovary- it may not be producing good quality eggs so maybe a little clomid from your dr would help boost eggs and get you pregnant... Best of luck! ~Ginny, Proud Mommy of Wally and y Born 10-19-

Guest guest
- It took me 4 yrs to get pg with my twins with the help of clomid, and suffering 1 miscarriage.. I too have a müllerian anomaly . I have a septum in my uterus that my fertilty specialist said needed to be removed. I found many dr's that supported that notion. I went to another dr because my insurance had changed. She found that surgeyr was not needed and gave me clomid.. I was pg the first month! If ya wanna talk about this - email me anytime.. ~Ginny, Proud Mommy of Wally and y Born 10-19-
