Guest guest
Hi All, I am following up to a former posting where I voiced my concern over the reccommended tenotomy; My son Max wore 5 sets of casts, and his feet made terrific progress. My wife and I were skeptical when we were told that the Dr. reccomended this procedure, and we took a lot of time researching and asking questions. We then started him on the brace and he adjusted after a couple of days. When we had him out of the brace we were able to stand him flat on his feet, and there was no problem flexing up or down. Thus, we were even more skeptical of the necessity of the tenotomy. We returned to the Doctor after a few weeks with Max in the brace, and upon inspection he was impressed with how well Max's feet had improved. He then concurred that it would be alright to forgo the tenotomy. As a matter of curiosity, has anyone else chosen to forgo the tenotomy. If so, I would really like to hear about your situation, and how well your child has done with just the casting and the brace? Thank You, R Wagner
