Guest guest
Stacey- My son was 23/7 for the first 3 months(3 mo-6 mo), 20 hours for the next 3 months(he was 6mo-9mo), then reduced to naps/nightime(roughly 16 hours)(9-12 mo) and now that he is " weight bearing " he is just nighttime which avgs out to be between 12-14 hours(1 year old). Our doctor truly only wants in the shoes for 10 hours-he has extremely flexible feet but sleeps longer than that and we have chosen just to let him sleep vs taking his shoes off while he is asleep. I put roughly what age he was at with each stage of the bracing hours. He did learn to roll over in the bar, crawl in the bar, and now he stands in the bar(only in his crib) as once he is awake, the shoes come off. Our doctor told us to plan on him wearing the fab until he was 4 years old. I know on the clubfoot group they posted ponseti's actual bracing protocol as written in the global health book-but I figured my layman terms may help you understand. Hope this helps, kathleen mom to 8/28/04 bcf fab nights only > Hello Everyone, > > I have a three month old son named with moderate left > clubfoot who is currently wearing the DBB. Guest guest
Hello, I am so happy to hear all these stories that their children are right on schedule for walking, crawling etc.....It makes me feel so much better. Thanks for letting me know about the files section. I am going to check it out and show some of it to my husband. > > Hi! Guest guest
Hi All- My daugher has now been in the DBB for almost two weeks. She is two months old and she is wearing the Markell shoes. She has the smallest shoes -which I believe are 000. I think her feet are still so small that I have to readjust them often ( I marked where her toes should be when in the shoes!) Have any of you out there had this problem with your child? Any advice as to how to keep her feet in them securely--I put on her shoes on so tight... She started the process very young and avoided the tenetomy, however, if she is slipping out, will this cause her to relapse? We don't see the Dr. until next week. We are receiving treatment at Shriners so these are the shoes she is wearing--are the or Dobbs better? Just curious. But that means we have to pay out of pocket!
