We saw the pediatrician this am and he got a final copy of the x-ray report from the ER and stated point blank he had a kidney stone. Jake is 11. He said kidney stones in kids are unusual but more common in metabolic kids and also crohns kids - FUN FUN FUN. As jake is not in pain right now - he said hopefully it passed or he is passing it BUT if it happens once likely to happen again. So we will be following up with a renal specialist. Also he wanted me to call Clay and jakes Mito/metabolic specialist Dr. Kelley to talk to him about has he seen this in mito kids and also what type they tend to be as there are apparently 4 types of kidney stones. Also he wants him to see the renal and Dr, Kelley again soon o try to see what we can do to avoid them in the furture. Just looking for some input and if anyone has dealt with kidney stones in children.
