Guest guest
Yes, good point, and well taken but with that should we add that most docs don't know how to treat Atypical feet in the first place? s. Hello all. I just wanted to address something that has been bugging me for a while: It's about multiple castings. Several posts I've noticed have included the complaint that their childs docs have casted them like, 7 times, and they still aren't finished withthe casting. Immediately it seems people write in to say that that's too much casting and their docs probably aren't doing it right. In general, I would say this is true, but in the case of atypical feet, those norms don't really apply. Gabe's feet were half corrected when we got to Iowa and Ponseti casted him every 5 days for 7 weeks, so ... While usually I would agree that something is amiss with a lot of these kids treatments, especially if said doc is deviating in other ways, I just wanted to note that with the atypical kids, the usual 4 or 5 casts doesn't offen do the job. So, if a questioning parents writes in with this particular complaint, maybe " do you know if your child has atypical cf? " should be our first question. Just a thought.... Hope everyone had a good weekend! __________________________________________________

Guest guest
I agree, even though we were fortunate to have our son in only 5 casts. Our Dr. told us originally that it could be 7-10 casts for proper angles. S faith slattery wrote: Hello all.
