Poor Gobo!

Sounds to me like it might possibly be a strep or fungal infection

(normal skin flora that have " taken over " because you are stressed

from the surgery). You might try washing your face with Hibiclens if

you have any left over from your preop prep (or can get some) twice or

3x/day.. in between, you might try a light application of triple

antibiotic over the open areas. If you have any reason to suspect its

fungal, use plain live-culture yogurt as a " facial " (apply it to the

open patches 7 leave on ~15 minutes) several times daily. I suggest

yogurt over the over the counter yeast meds because if it isn't yeast,

the yogurt won't hurt your skin, & the medicine might cause a

reaction. I wish I could help more- sounds to me like you REALLY need

a hand right now! Keep us updated, please?

Hugs,

Liane

This is truly embarassing. I just don't know what to do.

I will obviously see a dermatologist as soon as I can get

myself out on my own. Right now, I cannot leave

because the closest bus stop is up a very steep hill.

I cannot afford a cab right now.

Oh well, I am busy trying to get well and mobile as quickly

as possible, but everytime I look in the mirror, I hardly

recognize myself because of all the red mountains.

Wow, Gobo -- sounds like you may have some kind of allergic reaction or

something... I had cyst-like acne on my jawline and face in my mid-20's. It

was pretty nasty! I can't remember what they called it (cystic acne, I

think) and the dermatologist really didn't say he knew for sure what caused

it (except hormones and stress).

Hope you get some relief soon --- I found that warm compresses always

helped... I'd wash my face then put a wet, warm washcloth on my face at least

twice a day. My brother's dermo dr said to use Dial soap -- that may be an

option now before you are able to get some meds...

All the best,

gobo,

This is just an idea, but I'm thinking of shifting estrogen levels.

Estrogen flooding the system is something that goes along with rapid

weight loss and it can be a cause of bad skin breakouts. I think

you're right about stress playing a role, and Lili's recommendations

also make a lot of sense.

No specific suggestions, I'm sorry.

I hope you're feeling well enough very soon, and that you can get to

a dermatologist.

Regards
