Guest guest
About the BC/BS fed insurance question. I switched from BC/BS Federal when I was first turned down for the bpd/dp back in 1999. I chose Mailhandlers. They approved and paid for my revision from theVBG to the BPD/DS which I had with Dr. Anthone at USC in California. I went with the standard option only because my DS is military and we supplemented with Champus. I'd suggest taking the High Option because they surgery is expensive. You'd have to check to see what Surgeons are "in network", but they will have the bookets out during "open season" and you can check then. With Mailhandlers I didn't have to get a refferal. I just called and made an appointment with Dr. Antone. It did take from first call in January to a consultation in April, pre-op in July and finally surgery in November. I would have had surgery in September, but my "boss" at work wouldn't let me take the six weeks off beginning in Sept. I had my surgery on 1 Nov 00. I'm down 84 lbs now. I would have probably lost all the 102 I needed if I was more committed to exercising, but I'm a lazy slob. Never liked moving around much.
