As far as ice cream my son eats the Double Rainbow sorbet from Trader Joes (I verified the mango/tangerine and the chocolate). Also Sharons Sorbet which is sold in supermarkets (I only verified the chocolate). Trader Joes sorbet is $1.99, Sharons is $3.99. on Long Island New York * ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! One thing of interest, I'm pre-op and I've always loved soy milk. Out of curiosity I looked on the package of an 8 oz serving of EdenSoy-it has 10 grams of protein! Guest guest
Thanks Pam and for the soy info. BTW Pam, you gave me pause since I have serious family history of breast cancer. I would try to avoid any form of estrogen. Take care, Fay ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the internet in years - Juno SpeedBand! Guest guest
Hi everyone, Does anyone have any information on soy, thyroid and men? Just curious as my brother-in-law also has Graves disease. It come on after following the Atkins diet for a couple of years. Was wondering if the increase in soy intake while on Atkins may have played a part in his Graves becoming active. Just musing. in MA, USA Diagnosed w/Graves, March 1997 Glad I've refused RAI Treatment!!! Guest guest
I think some people can eat soy without any problems. I for one cannot. I didn't notice that I had a problem with soy until after developing Grave's. Didn't eat a lot of it, but now if I eat a protein bar with soy protein in it, just wipes out any thyroid hormone in my body and puts me to sleep for the day, just like being really hypo in a 2 hour time period after eating it. I won't take any chances ever again with eating it. Soy protein is even in " the soup of the day " at your favorite restaurants. I was eating well, taking care of myself, and suddenly would feel so crappy, and finally realized what it was, Soy. I stay away from it like the plague. Scientifically, don't know why.
