I want to thank all of you who responded. I am so glad that I am not alone in my feelings concerning Abigail. :) Sorry for taking so long in getting back, I haven't been feeling well...however I am much better now. :)

Monday we went to Abigail's first gymnastics class. I was a wreck lol! She was thrilled. During the warm up she was a little uneasy and ran to me saying she was scared. There were quite a few kids there and they were all bouncing around at the same time. However when they began working at different activity stations she joined in. At that point the large group was divided into two groups. Though, she can't summersalt, and she can't hold her own wait on the bars but she didn't seem to care. My heart sank for her, and I cheered with a smile all at the same time. Most imporatntly she was loving every minute. At one point she was saying, "Look at me, Look at me!" She was fearless. By the time we left and I listend to her tell her dad about gymnastics class over the phone my heart was full with joy. You were all right, she didn't notice she was different...she just had a lot of fun. It has been a happy ending! Who knows, we might even try preschool next year. :) I am

learning to be brave through a little girl who on some days is as fragile as a new born child. Who ever thought that my youngest would be the one to teach me how to live. sarah wrote:

i'm glad she gets to try it . Its a great time. If she doesn't like it , you take her out thats all. I put zach in soccer w/ his sister, yet he couldnt keep up but he liked doing the practice round. There are different levels of abilities of even the normal kids. Its really basic stuff. She'll be fine , but yet i know what yu mean. I even see big differences in my son whose 4 next to 1 and 2 -3 year olds when it comes to stamina, balance and coordination . I know it will always be that way and they will do what they can do. If their teachers are good they'll not discourage her trying and take the extra time.

You can also do excersizes at home i know my pt said that the wheel barrow walk on hands u hold the feet is a good one builds arm strength. Also i hold his hands and he pulls up like a sit up . you can also practice at home so she gets more confident w/ each gymnastic class. I know its very hard to watch more agile kids who are younger than ours do more things but I take it as we look at what they can do not what they cant. Doesn't take the sadness and the want for the best, but you know deep down they just want to have fun too.

mom to zach 4 ga2 (one sick little guy this week) is 5 ( a supportive sister, cept when she has him in a head lock saying i love you):)

Hi Everyone! :)I know it has been a while. We have been bouncing from Hopkins to Childrens to town. Not to mention our regular visits to the PCP. SO far we are all hanging in there. Right now Abigail has a rash on her cheeks (light pink) and it is spreading to the rest of her body. :( Not sure what we are in for. Her PCP noted a big decline in her muscle mass since last year at her well baby visit. I was saddened by this as I am ever hoping that we will make our way back to where we were before this roller coaster began. We have been encouraged to put Abigail into a gymnastics class. Though today she could hardly make it through JC Penny's. :( Still when we went to see the gym she didn't want to leave. I want her to have this, I can tell my husband does to. Please don't think badly of me when I

say this...I am afraid to see her next to other 3 year olds. I am afraid of seeing that she is different. See, I can imagine that she isn't that far behind when I measure her against her older sisters. After all they are older, or against the younger children on our street...they are all still learning to walk and talk. None the less Monday we will be going to Little Gym, I will be swallowing hard while she will be jumping in with both feet and not looking back as she always does. Thank God she is brave as I can only muster enough to put on a front, and then crumble after the children are in bed each night. When we went to the Little Gym this morning, Abigail said she needed a body suit for her gym class. The lady instructor insisted that sweats would be fine. Abigail was so excited she instantly told the lady that she had pink sweats at home, and that they even had bunnies on them. lol When we came home she pulled

them out, and declared that she was ready for her class. :)I only pray that this is everything she wants it to be. Sometimes, I see the pain when she can't keep up with other kids. I just really want this to be special. :)Thx for listening. MystPlease contact mito-owner with any problems or questions.
