Hi, Collin didn't start seeing Dr. Herzenberg (Ponseti doctor) until

after his second birthday. Collin had surgery at 8 weeks old that

left his foot stiff, etc. Now they do want to put a fixator on him

which requires 2 surgeries but it is a lot less invasive then the

typical clubfoot correction surgeries for relapse from what I've

learned. I think switiching to the ponseti method (if it will require

surgery or not) is one of the best moves we made for our son.

I was searching the archives because I remember asking the same

question before. Type in 10965 in the message # box, and that will

lead you to when I asked before with all of the responses linked to

it. I didn't do it though until after Collin's second birthday from

what I remember. I think after I posted that we may have switched to

Shriners thinking that was a good idea, but after being there for a

while we realized that Shriners in Philadelphia, does not use the

ponseti method, and mentioned surgery to us at like every appoinment

we had, they were constantly trying to prepare us with the thought of

surgery! I honestly think it is worth checking out no matter what age

your child is. Where are you from? We are going out to Dr. Ponseti

for the first time in September and found out that it is going to be

easier then we ever thought to get there. We have contacted angel

flights who help find you free air fare, etc. Please feel free to e-

mail me personally also if you have any questions. My e-mail is
