Guest guest
Hi everyone! My son (born January 2002) has bilateral club feet. He has been treated by casting and a postorior release at the age of 6 months. He does not get any treatment besides antivarus shoes at the moment. His feet have started to turn inwards again. The only solution which is offered to us by our doctor(s) is another surgery - which I don´t feel at all comfortable with. (I wanted to avoid surgery in the first place, but couldn´t, due to difficult circumstances and pressure from the doctors). My question to all of you: Have you ever heard of somebody who has had a (major) posterior release l but has afterwards switched to the Ponseti method of casting to recorrect the inward turning of the feet? Our doctors say, that there is no way of switching to the Ponseti method after you have once chosen the conventional treatment. I just don´t get it into my head, why the surgery done to his heal makes casting impossible or useless?!? I´m really greatfull for any help! Kind regards Katja
