Guest guest
Hi gang! My name is Rhudell and I'm not new here. I have been reading your posts every day for, well, a long time. I used to write and responded almost daily. I stepped back from responding but, still read daily and will respond when I feel I have something to add to the discussion. I think I have something here. I was on Enbrel for several years and my insurance paid for it. My copay was $35. During the " shortage " a few years ago I was put on Remicade and it coincided with my insurance cancellation. My Infammatory Diseases Specialists and I tried to convince several boards to approve Medicare to pay for me to continue Enbrel but, they did not approve. Remicade is more expensive but, Medicare (here in NY/NJ) will cover it when it is administered in a doctors office or medical lab. If you don't qualify for Medicare and have no other insurance, try contacting Centocor. They may have a program to help the uninsured. If I had to pay out of my pocket, the current price is $1,896 per infusion (about the same as a 30 day supply of Enbrel). Prednisone runs retail app. $119 per 90 day supply based on your doctors dosage. I hope this has been helpful. I've got to go back into my shell. In about 10 days I will be having surgery to clear spinal cord blockage partly caused by scar tissue bits from the lumbar laminectomy where they went to " finally " diagnose me with neuro-sarcoidosis a decade ago. Hope this is helpful, I'll be watching!
