Guest guest
I need to ask first, are you sure it's colic? Our Everett was pegged as " coliky " but he was tongue tied; he cried and felt miserable all the time due to lack of ability to eat. For 4 months we lived in Hell with a baby crying 24 hours a day until we were able to get this fixed. Other wise, rub his tummy a lot in circular motions, help him raise his feet up and down, raise them and twist to one side and then the other side, gently you know, but firmly too. Carry him in a sling near to you where he'll get held and rocked but your hands will remain free to do your chores. OH, thrush, have you looked for thrush? WE had that miserable problem for a while too leading to more crying. I swear I didn't get my baby until he was 4 months old. Hang in there - and most important, keep your sanity. If it means putting him safe in his bed while you go hide in the laundry closet with both machines running so you don't hear the crying, do that. There's no shame in being exhausted or frustrated, and even in admitting at times you don't like that kid very much at the moment. REMEMBEr babies are very keen to YOUR emotions - so think happy thoughts, tell him what a good baby he is and really mean it, keep saying it, thinking it, faking a good mood because if you are anxious, the baby will act anxious too. Hope some of that might help. s. Re: Advice of avoiding tenetomy Krishna- Congrats on -she is a beautiful baby. With regards to her colic-I can not personally relate as my son had only 1 true episode. However, my little niece was a colic baby until she was 4months old. It ended up she had acid reflux-once they put her on nexium(baby version) and got her formula straighten out-she was a much happier baby. I have heard that the potential with the casts weighing their legs down may affect their ability to pass gas-however, david did not have that problem. I wanted to pipe in about the no tenetomy- is almost 13 months old and to this point, he is tenetomy free. His feet look great(Dr ponseti just concurred via email) and we are glad that he has not had to have this procedure done. Who is your doctor at shriner's? Is he an actual ponseti certified doctor? Her feet looked good and you mentioned you were not able to take a picture. Are her casts outwardly rotated to 70degrees? Just want to make sure she is getting fully corrected! Hope this helps-I am sure more moms will pipe in. Keep us updated! kathleen mom to david bcf fab 10/7 > Hello everyone- > It has been a while since I have posted.
