Guest guest
Grace had a checkup w/Dr Frick Aug. 16th and everything was Great. It was such a relief to hear!! She is running and doing things she couldn't do before because she was in pain........and stiff etc. Since surgery and being in the s her dorsiflexion has improved not only on the foot that had the release done but also on her left foot. The rockerbottom seems to be improving although I can still feel a slight bump area. As long as she is not complaining of the pain like before I can deal with it! She just turned 4 Aug 23rd and there was no mention of taking her out of the s........she doesn't complain or ever ask. She doesn't go back for 8 months and Dr Frick will do Xrays then in hopes that her bones are moved. He seemed excited and took alot of pictures of her feet to send Dr Ponseti. For anyone that is wondering Grace had a very complicated case that could have been aggravated by mild cerebral palsy issues. I still strongly support the Ponseti method and did everything in my power to avoid surgery! Just wanted to clear that up because I had gotten a few emails back when I was trying to decide what to do. I am 28 now and live in pain that has gotten much worse within the last 6 months from clubfoot surgery. I worry so much that Grace will go through the same thing. I do have a question too if anyone has read this far. Has anyone ever looked into special braces for bedtime that are not attatched to a bar but ONLY dorsiflex the feet?? They make them for adults too that have achilles problems. I looked at them a few years ago for myself but remember they were expensive and I didn't feel like dealing with insur. at the time. I am considering something for Grace as she gets older but wonder if they could possibly do damage. Anyone else ever seen them or know anything about them? I will look them up later and post the link. Boothe By the way we are officially OUT OF THE ARMY!!!!! We moved 15 mins from Raleigh Nc if anyone is near let me know!
