How do you keep Houdini in the shoes?

My son is a Houdini when it comes to taking the Markell shoes off. He

can't undo the buckle, but he can unknot the laces no matter how many

knots we put in them. Once the laces are loose he can just slide one

of his feet out. In the middle of the night I had to put his foot back

in the shoes. Any suggestions on how to keep him in the shoes?
