Guest guest
: This is from Barbara 's Newsletter. I hope you find it helpful. http://www.wlscenter.com/NLArchive/Jan152006.htm How much can I eat? I am asked this question often. People want to know exactly how many calories are just right for them. The Institute of Medicine has identified in the chart below the approximate weight you should be according to heights and the number of calories you should eat to maintain that weight. 5'1 " to 5'4 " , 98-132 pounds: Women: 1,688-1,834 calories per day if sedentary; 2,104-2,290 if active Men: 1,919-2,167 calories per day if sedentary; 2,104-2,290 if active 5'5 " to 5'8 " , up to 150 pounds Women: 1,816-1,982 calories per day if sedentary; 2,267-2,477 if active Men: 2,068-2,349 calories per day if sedentary; 2,490-2,842 if active 5'9 " to 6', 125-169 pounds Women: 1,948-2,134 calories per day if sedentary; 2,434-2,670 if active Men: 2,222-2,538 calories per day if sedentary; 2,683-3,078 if active 6'1 " to 6'4 " , 129-188 pounds Women: 2,083-2,290 calories per day if sedentary; 2,605-2,869 if active Men: 2,382-2,736 calories per day if sedentary; 2,883-3,325 if active In order to lose weight, subtract 250 calories per day from wherever you fit in the chart above, and burn 250 calories through a daily exercise program. That will help you to lose about 1 pound per week. Francisco
