think what she is going thru......and she being so young....and i am

trying to be supportive and not cry-she doesn't want me to cry-...on a

happier note...i dreamt that i had the surgery.....and that is how i

usually know that i really want something....dumb but true---i had cut

off all my long curly hair and i had 3 dreams that my hair was back and

i was playing with it-you know like those hair commercials-haha, and i

let it grow out again and i am really happy that i have my long hair

back...........hugs, dama

Dama Sorry to hear about your friend with cancer, it is so hard to deal with. I lost Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, 2 Sister (one just last month) and my husband step mom has it back again real bad, and a step sister of mine they both are dealing with a lot and trying to be there for them and stay strong as support is a hard thing. The more people who are there for support is better because going through the different treatments, and surgeries are all so hard and then not knowing if it will work or not, there is so much fear. So being on the up side will only help. When my husbands step mom lost all her hair I mean all, we made a fun day of wig shopping, she got 2 really nice ones and was so happy. When my step sister came down with cancer, it wasn't the cancer that upset her as much as losing her hair that was down to her butt, so believe it or not I shaved my head to our hair could grow back together. I looked so bad, but it made

her laugh every time we saw each other and we bought lots of scarves and hats. She still battles the cancer and this started over 14 years ago, it's back again in her also. She's okay if I don't ever shave my head again and I'm so glad. Hey life is to short to worry what others may think, do what's in your heart, be there for your friend and try to stay happy, dealing with all that goes with cancer is hard enough, much less a crying friend to bring you more down. Stay tough and take care. Try to have a good day. I know lots about lymphomas and other malignancies. I work in cancer

research and statistics. What did you need to know? Lymphomas come

in many types (Hodgkins and Non-hodgkins, B-cell, T-cell, NK cell,

etc) and can be staged as low as a stage I( just in a few lymph

nodes) to Stage IV(in lymph nodes, bone marrow, and non lymph

organs).

Quite a few lymphomas respond very well to chemotherapy. There are a

LOT of chemotherapy regimens out there to treat lymphoma. Your

friends Oncologist(cancer doctor) will come up with the best one for

your friend.

You tell your friend to stay strong and don't despair.

Regards

ette
