Pyruvate is a precursor to lactate. The fact that it was high would probably

indicate that your lactate will be increasing shortly. Your high pyruvate in

relationship to lactate is what makes the ratio low. These numbers change a

lot. Don't always have to be high. Are often increased due to stress.
