Guest guest
Hi my son was born with left club foot and I just got back from Iowa, he was treated by Dr Ponseti. He fixed his foot in 4 casts as well and did not need the tenotomy. I think its just that the foot moved well and was flexable enough not to need it. My son definitly had club foot but I guess you could say it was a mild case compared to some of the other children who have stiff feet. There was a lady there in Iowa with me whos son needed 7 casts and the tenotomy, so each foot is different I guess you should just be happy that he didnt need it at all. Noah's last cast comes off on weds so I will let you know how it looks without the tenotomy. I'm sure if Dr. Ponseti himself doesnt do it sometimes than it seems perfectly normal and you should have nothing to worry about. Take care. & Noah 03/20/05 LCF mamaemaya wrote: My daughter also had a murky condition. not dx as cf but her foot never went quite straight. you are lucky that your dr. recommended treatment. due to an illness on the part of our first, non ponsetti physician, we ended up canceling her scheduled tendon release and ended up finding a ponsetti certified physician. she thought katie would need the tenotomy but when seh took her fourth cast off she told us we were done.
