Guest guest
Wow Rose, No, I didn't see the cartoon. But that is a new one - cutting your son's toenails. LOL I can relate to the nail clippers though. With all the nail clippers in the house, my kids & husband always lost them , who knows where. I kept mine safe and when they borrowed them, they had to promise to return. I ended up putting a pair in every Christmas stocking last year too! lol Debbie PS By the way, I am the official back scratcher in the house......Rose wrote: Debbie, did you see the cartoon I sent about trust? So true. I started having my kids do their own laundry around Jr. High, when I found that I was washing clean clothes repeatedly because they threw them down on the floor after deciding to wear something else. So they all 3 did their own, unless it was something really special. For the first couple of years, Brad put all of his clothes in together, then would leave them in the dryer to get all wrinkled. But I just let it go; by the time he was 15 or so, he took more interest in his appearance & started doing a better job on his clothes, even learning how to iron! One thing that I did for him was cut his toenails, until he was about 22! I don't know why, but he just wouldn't cut his toenails, even after he started college. He'd be home for a weekend & ask me to do it. Finally, when he moved several hours away & didn't come home for weeks on end, he had to do it himself. I give him new toenail clippers as a stocking stuffer every year. A couple of years ago I didn't bother & he made a ruckus about it, so last year, Surprise! new toenail clippers in his stocking. Guest guest
Debbie, I put the trust cartoon & another one about teenage boys' laundry in the Photos section, in the Cartoons album. You have to check them out. If you don't get the Zits comic strip in your paper, some of them can be viewed at this website: http://www.kingfeatures.com/features/comics/zits/about.htm Even if you haven't raised teenagers, it's a great strip to read. Re: nail clippers. When my kids were all school age, it seemed there was a Bermuda Triangle for clippers at my house. So I bought one of those bead chains (like in toilet tanks) & actually chained a pair of nail clippers to the bathroom sink, mashing the beads with pliers. One day I walked by the bathroom & there was one of my daughters, with some pliers, trying to get it off! A lot of the clippers went down between the sofa cushions. I used to periodically retrieve the stuff down there, but I learned to put a plastic bag over my hand because there was no telling was I was going to grab onto!
