Just wanted to pass on that my dh had the same problem and he kept a container of sugar free mints and/or hard candies next to the bed and would pop one in when he was feeling miserable. I'm happy to say that for the most part, that phase has passed on. He still keeps the mints with him, but that desperate feeling of dry mouth has gone away.
