We went to shriner's today and saw dr. dobb's...as Westley (17

months) has been having a heck of a time with the regular shoe/brace

combo. He is taking them off every night...we have tried every

possible way to keep them on - including duck tape (I'm serious). He

slips his left foot out every time. And when you put it back on -

the entire cycle of crying for 1-2 hours continues until he gets it

back off.

Anyway...he was fitted for a new type of brace that Dr. Dobb's is

using. I have forgotten the name. It still has the bar in between

the two, but the shoe part is molded to the shape of his foot and

goes much further up on the leg. My question...what is this

called? Does anyone have one like this? If so can you maybe post a

picture of it? I am having a hard time visualizing what it will

look like. Is it easier to get on than the shoes? have you had any

trouble with your child taking them off?

We have had a horrible 5 months...and sadly the past 3 months we

have done awful with his bar wear. His heal still looks perfect,

but the toes are regressing a tad inward. They are going to cast

him in two weeks for seven days - then when they are taking the

casts off we will get the new brace. We are going to then go to

23/7 wear for a while untill he gets used to the whole thing

again....and slowly go back down to night time. Any one else have

casts this late in the game? How did you child react?

Ok...thanks guys! I really appreciate the help.
