Guest guest
Tracie, I take the kids to the batting cages once in awhile. I wasn't a very good softball player, but I could hit pretty well in fast pitch (never could get the hang of hitting the slow pitch). I tried the slow pitch cage & only made contact a couple of times--very embarrassing. Then I tried the fast pitch & I can hit nearly every pitch. They come in kind of low & very fast. I have to stand at the front of the box & start swinging when I see the ball drop down. Most of them are strikes, so I've got a good chance of making contact. If I wait until I see the ball actually being released, it hits the backstop before I swing! I can only do one turn before my wrists & elbow start to hurt, but it's still fun & looks like I'm tough stuff. Ramblin' RoseModerator A merry heart is good medicine. I am the kid who put the sleeve where the zipper belonged, and the zipper where the sleeve went. Needless to say, home-ec was a D grade. But hey, give me a lawnmower, and I was happy. Better yet, give me a baseball glove and bat-- and it was hog-heaven! Actually I played Womens Fast pitch softball from the time I was 12 until I turned 25. I was one league short of Womens' Professional Softball, but back in the dark ages-- that didn't say a whole lot. I can still lay a bunt down better than the rest-- and it's still good! Just don't ask me to run the bases. LOL! Now, about quilts-- when Torey was about 5 (he's almost 25)-- I took his knitted and crocheted baby blankets along with a baby quilt and had them sewn together, so they make a comforter. He could care less (he's a guy) but I'm sure they will be loved by someone later down the line. Hmm, can you knit with a baseball bat??? Tracie See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage.
