Gaby verbalised as a baby, but started singing about 4 years of age (about

12 months into the keto diet)

We really only " read " her whines and body language still for communication.

We have tried pictures, signing and switches, non eof which have been

terribly successful. After an appointment this week, we have decided to give

speech/OT therapy another serious shot next year to try and develop a system

of Communication as she has developed a habit of yellng for long periods,

which may well be frustration form lack of communication.

Gaby uses the sign for " finished' a lot. It means..I've had enough, ..lets

go.. no more.. so perhaps we could work more on this. She has some

dystonia, and CP which make small switch use difficult, but she can use a big

switch, for example on her computer to listen to " Living books "

I too, would just lke her to be able to tell me what she wants, or doesn't

want from time to time. She looks into my eyes, and I can see that she wants

to 'say' something..but then she just sings!!

There is a little girl with PDH in the USA that we whose family we have

communicated with in the past, and she does not speak at all (aged 7 years,

and on the keto diet since an early age). There are also 2 girls here in

Australia younger than Gaby (and not on the keto diet) who do not

speak.(both are also blind, and one is deaf)

ne, mum to Gaby, PDH, G Tube, keto diet, wheelchair dependant,

CP,microcephaly, scoliosis, hip surgery and loves to sing!
