Guest guest
Amy, It might have been the combination of the high carbs AND high sugar content in Balance Bars that gave you the spell. I am 5 weeks out and I am just beginning to experiment more and more with the protein bars. Last week I had a Balance Bar because my daughter likes them so I KNEW they had to be good..lol. It was, but primarily because of the high carb and sugar content (compared to low carb bars). The first 2-3 weeks I had a hard time with protein too but tried my best and yes eventually it got better (that and a script for compazine helped BIG TIME). I did pureed soups (pea or lentil), soft cheeses (although I think I am developing an intolerance to lactose now), soft fish (tuna, salmon) all in small portions. Also at 2wks hydration is most important and that could have something to do with your body's reaction too. Personally I am going to try these Luna Bars everyone is raving about. I sure hope they are better than the rest. Good luck! Sondra Post Op w/Dr. Herron @Mt.
