Guest guest
I don't need the power chair. I can use the reg. one just fine. I only have a scooter for outside trips on the bike trail and going the mile to the groc. store by myself. I want a chair I can use to the car and then be able to take it apart and put it in. I saw one a gentleman had last month. He showed me how to use it and it seemed like I could handle it. The wheels come off and the rest folds up. He put the wheels in the back seat (while he sat behind the wheel of the car) and then the rest he put next to him in the front seat all where he could easily reach it. He gave me the name of the place to get it I just lost that information. I think I will go on line and check some of the places they might have. Maybe I wasn't clear as to my abilities. I have NS for two years now. I can walk short distances with a walker and in able to get around in the manual wheel chair. However the car is in the garage and I need to be able to go down an incline to get to it. The incline is greater than I am able to go right now. So until then if I want to drive by my self I need a way to get the chair into the car. I hope this clears things a little . I know I was getting confused. Again thank you for your help. Jackie Car AccidentCan't remember if I mentioned that our car was totaled on Sept.25th.The car was totaled and with it went my scooter lift. My scooter is in the scooter hospital. We were able to purchase another car which is a 2004 Ford Freestar limited. Of course the insurance com[pany payment was no where what the car cost.We are now looking for a scooter lift. We met someone at the conference that is in a electric wheel chair. They have a ramp that you drive the chair up into the car. The ramp folds in 4. That is a less expensive option but I really would rather have a lift I could handle myself. But that would be about 2500 to 3000 dollars, I applyed for a zero persent credit card that would stay at zero% until Octoober of 2008.Now the dilema to pay less for the ramps or to get thenice ramps which run about $2500.00. Anyone with experience with the ramps or anyone wanting to vote on which one they think should get. I need some help with this decision.Judy in PAJudy in PA~~~~ *** ~~~ *** ~~~ *** ~~~~The Neurosarcoidosis CommunityNS CHAT:- FAITH CHAT: SUNDAY 4PM-5PM EASTERN TIME CHATROOM LINK: http://www.emxpc. net/chat/ index.php Message Archives:-http://groups. yahoo.com/ group/Neurosarco idosis/messagesMembers Database:-Listings of locations, phone numbers, and instant messengers.http://groups. yahoo.com/ group/Neurosarco idosis/database
