Guest guest
Hi All, I was away for a few days at my parents' cabin in the mountains. I live near Salt Lake City, UT and they have a cabin in the Uinta Mountains several hours away. I am a single, 40 yr old female who has never been married or had any children (just my 2 cats), and my primary caregiver is my mom with the help of my dad and my 2 sisters (as well as several great friends and neighbors). I haven't been up to the cabin in over a year because of all the doctors appts, the initial surgery of carpal tunnel release on both hands (this is what they thought was causing the numbness and tingling in my hands and arms), the spinal tap, the blood work and the surgical biopsy of my spinal cord, not to mention all of the worsening fatigue, exhaustion, numbness and tingling of all my extremities, and all of the other wonderful symptoms that have quickly cropped up in just a year's time. My parents were worried that I wouldn't be able to be comfortable once they got me up to the cabin, but decided it was finally time to try since I had been begging them to get me up there. I did great on the drive (2-1/2 hrs)...I had my doctor call in some muscle relaxers for the neck pain and upper back spasms right before we left, and I think that helped some. The second day at the cabin I decided to see if I could still ride the 4-wheeler. My parents helped me get on it, and then I took off very slowly. When I got to the straightaway I opened it up and was so overjoyed and excited that I started crying! I had no idea I would respond this way...it has just been so long since I have ridden anything besides my recliner...I felt like I was a free and normal person again. It was a very emotional experience! I couldn't wait to get back and tell my Sarc Family! My mom took a pic of me on the 4-wheeler, but when I uploaded it, my head was chopped off, otherwise I would share the pic with ya'll! Love to All! in UT
