Steve,

Dr. Anthone uses a light dose of Heparin to thin the blood. However a

heavy dose can lead to hemmoraging, so there is a balancing act.

Once you get out of the hopsital you don't have the thinner, so often

the first week out of the hospital is a fairly high risk for PE.
