I'm not sure how we will make all the > finances work, but we feel it is worth it in the bigger picture to have the > balance of competence and caring.... good luck, Janne janne, when you start looking at hotels in delano, call the shiloh inn. they have special rates for the ds patients, and the rooms for after surgery (while you are waiting to get drains and staples out) are set up to accommodate surgery patients. we stayed there the night before my surgery, and then for 4 days after i was released from the hospital. they were very accommodating to our needs. i would suggest bringing a bean bag to help prop up in bed - that was the one thing that really helped me before i got home to my recliner. as far as the hospital goes, my husband stayed with me the entire time i was in - i slept in the recliner (i couldn't handle laying in a bed) and he slept in my bed. it really helped to have someone who could get what i needed when i needed it, i was more likely to ask him than bother a nurse. everyone at the hospital was great, and i can never say enough good things about the incomparable dr. k!!!! he is awesome, as is his entire staff. best wishes, ~amy~ open ds 4/13/01 -80 pounds gone forever Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
