Guest guest
hehehe...smell the wood burnin'??? :-) Anyway, I was thinking about all the issues with doctors claiming to use the Ponseti method, but modifying it or outright changing it. And I was thinking, there's got to be SOMETHING you can do about it. Soooo...that got me thinking about the Bradley Method. Okay, you're going to have to follow a bit--my mom is/was a Bradley teacher (natural childbirth method developed by (ta-da) Dr. Bradley). Now, you can't just go and call yourself a " Bradley instructor " , it must be licensed or copywrited or patented or something. Mom had to take a course, then get re-certified every year in order to stay a " Bradley instructor " . Why couldn't the same thing apply to the " Ponseti Method " ? Make it legal! Patent/copyright/license it! Make docs HAVE to come be instructed in Iowa (or where-ever) in order to be " certified Ponseti practitioners " . And make them HAVE to re-certify every year/2 years/whatever--send proof--patient studies, pics, etc. that prove they're following it TO THE LETTER still. This isn't stopping anyone from treating CF, or casting or whatever, but it would help stop docs from claiming to use the Ponseti method if they're not, right? It would be a legal issue then. I don't know, it's just a thought. Obviously I have no clue as to the legalities of this. But even if people still use the method and modify it, at least this would put the kibosh on them claiming it's the ACTUAL " Ponseti method " . Because it would be the " Ponseti Method tm " . :-) They'd have to call it the Ponsettia Method hehehe ;-}
