N-acetylcysteine for Sjögren's syndrome in sarcoidosis

Hello everyone. I just found a paper that I thought would be useful

for people here because it confirms something I have suspected - that

n-acetylcysteine helps reduce the symptoms of sarcoidosis.

This is about the use of n-acetylcycteine in eye drops to help heal

the lacrimal (tear) glands in Sjögren's syndrome but as NAC is a

supplement that improves the mucosal balance, I think its important to

say that it probably has a lot of value when taken orally too. (most

people take 1 to 2 grams a day total in two or three doses, in

capsules they buy)

Its a very powerful precursor of glutathione, which is your body's

natural detoxifier...a super antioxidant and cell membrane protector..

and it helps detoxify more poisons than any other supplement I've ever

heard of.. including lead, mercury and many other bad chemicals we can

get exposed to unintentionally. It reduces inflammation throughout the

body.

Anyway, the old PubMed article is here.. in the upper left corner

there is a link to download the PDF of the entire paper..

http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/articlerender.fcgi?tool=pubmed & pubmedid=5651047

I'd also try doing a serach on n-Acetylcysteine on PubMed proper.. I

got 8402 hits back, most were papers listing positive applications of

NAC in the treatment of many diseases...

It can also be used prophylactically.. its something I think most

people would benefit from and its very cheap..

Try this search:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?term=n-Acetylcysteine & sourceid=mozilla-\

search & db=PubMed & orig_db=PubMed & dispmax=200 & dopt=DocSum
