Guest guest
A year or so ago I went on the South Beach Diet, with the blessings of my PCP, an internal medicine specialist. I found it much easier than I expected, possibly because I was committed to at least two weeks. The first week was enough to break my carb craving cycle, and I went on to lose about 30# over 4-5 mos. I've kept that weight off, despite falling back into a lot of my old habits. I'm going to begin it again this week, to get a jump on the holidays. Another thing I like is that it's not an expensive food plan to follow. For anyone interested, here is the website, which also provides suggested meal plans & grocery lists. I did not buy the book; just followed the info on the website. As with any food/lifestyle plan, guzzle that water! http://www.southbeach-diet-plan.com/index.html Ramblin' RoseModerator A merry heart is good medicine. You are absolutely right about the water and sugar and other information. I started with a Life Transformation Coach and that was the first thing. I am putting lemon slices in it but before I get out of bed I have to have 2 to 3 glasses of water and I have to drink the amount we set upon during the day and believe it or not I started to improve within 2 days. I also incorporated deep connected breathing in the morning before getting out of bed and at night time. I am allergic to the cow protein but over the years I was able to start incorporating it back into my diet. But I admit before this last attack I was eating ice cream every day. I know now I have to stay away from it as it is addictive. And, I admit, I am so much better pain wise. My neurologist has me on a vitamin regimen. I know that the calcium magnesium pill helps me. I take it before I go to bed and it helps alot. I am on the IV prednisone and reducing. I was on 1000 mg monthly but now they reduced me to 500 and we are going to attempt 5 week intervals and reducing again from 11 to 10 mg and see how I do. I am going to really start trying to reduce all the processed foods as I know I did for a few days and what a difference as I am either sensitive to the foodstuffs or like you said I get the lactic acid buildup and it creates so much pain EVERYWHERE as you all know. Thanks again Tracie for your email. Hugs, Kat See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage. Peek-a-boo FREE Tricks Treats for You! Get 'em!
