Guest guest
Hi everybody, I finally had a chance to get back on the computer, and now I'd like to ask any willing post-ops a few questions. First of all, did it ever HURT when you drank water? This is, by far, the CRAZIEST thing I've ever experienced!! It is miserable!! I asked my doc about it at my two week post-op visit, and he told me that there were some things that they just could not explain. NOT a satisfactory answer!!! Well, here I am, four weeks and one day post-op, getting ready to go back later today for my 4-week post-op check, and I'm STILL experiencing this. Can anyone tell me what this is, or WHY it is happening? It doesn't last very long (thank GOD!!) but it is VERY painful when it is happening. I'm 99.9% sure that it isn't any sort of gas, because I've experienced the gas pains, and this is different. I also feel it when I eat certain foods. The best way to explain it is that it feels like I've swalled a GIANT block, and it's going down with all the sharp edges poking me. DANG!!! The other question I had was did any of you have a low-grade fever when you came home? I've been running a low grade fever (it ranges usually between 99.3 - 99.6) and it doesn't seem to want to go away. The doctor told me that he wasn't concerned about it, as long as it stays below 101. He also told me that I probably had a urinary tract infection because of the catheter, and he gave me some Bactrim to take. He DID say that I could possibly still have the low grade fever for a while even AFTER finishing the course of the BACTRIM treatment, but that just seems strange to me. Of course, I will ask him again today about it, but I thought I'd throw that out there to you guys and see what you have to say. Please forgive me if these are topics that you've recently been discussing. I just CAN'T seem to get on this computer lately. In about two weeks from now, things should return to normal around here (whatever THAT is!! LOL!!) and I'll be planting myself in front of this computer a little bit more. I'm looking forward to hearing from you!! Hugs, Pam in MD BPD/DS - July 9, 2001 Dr. Vanguri
