I want to thank everyone who held my hand during my temper

tantrum over my last plateau! It broke while I was on vacation

and I lost 11 pounds in 14 days! Good Golly!

Anyway, here is my 6 month status report:

Wow! I started at 420 and am now at 304! What a relief!

My choice of surgeries was the Biliopancreatic Diversion with

Duodenal Switch ( " Duodenal Switch " or " DS " for short) - quite

different from the " rny " procedure.

I just came back from a vacation where I was quite active, walked,

hiked and did all kinds of things I could not have done 6 months

ago.

I have no complications, my diabetes disappeared almost immediately

after surgery, my mild sleep apnea is gone and my energy and

stamina is through the roof!

My goal for 6 months out was to have lost 120 pounds - I'm only

4 pounds short of that and feel like a " success " overall!

The best part is that I have eaten whatever I want whenever I

want. I can now trust my body to tell me what it wants, when

it wants it and how much is enough.

I can have desserts and am full & satisfied with a reasonable

amount. I never dump, due to the surgery I had, and satiety

is a regular occurence for me now, which I attribute to the

shape they cut the stomach organ in the procedure.

I have had my doubts along the way - plateaus are hard for me -

I'm a baby when it comes to them. But they break every time

and I just remain in awe of THIS surgery! The DS.

I have before & after pics on my website, along with my stats

& a journal.
