Man....labs are really disconcerting at times...and when you try to ask a dr about it, they just blow it off...

My son (who is adopted and not related to my mito child) Gaige, has high functioning autism and he has Alk Phos close to 600...they have been elevated since he was 19 months old and get higher everytime we do labs.

I have talked to his Pedi, Psychiatrist, GI and Geneticist and they all act like that is not high enough to worry about...unless some of the other labs in the liver panel were way off too.

Look like she is fine there too.

I am not too much help but to say its probably not a big deal on the ALP b/c all these drs blow it off and surely one of them would be concerned if I really needed too,,.

but to tell you a secret...I still wonder and worry about it!

Hi All-

I don’t post a lot, my daughter Zoe, 21/2, has complex

1 and is seen by Cohen ( out of state) I recently did some prelim blood labs on

my 4 year old daughter. Complaints of fatigue or frequent meltdowns corrected

by food, milk or juice…(heck what 4 year old isnt tired and cranky?)

Anyway, the immediate results were faxed to me and a day later I am still

waiting to talk to a doctor… sigh. She has no developmental issues and is

pretty typical.

SO the abnormal labs- all out of range were a

abnormally low COQ10- a couple tenths of percent below range

Low creatinine- a couple tenths of a percent below range

A high bun/creat ratio- 37.5 and she had plenty of fluids before

A high alb/glob ratio- just out of range

A

high Alkaline Phosphatase 462--- the high in range was 297

Any of these familiar- and anyone understand the

significance on the seriousness of them??? Help!!

Thanks- Suzanne
