Guest guest
Molly has had diarrhea for alost three weeks. Does anyone here deal with diarrhea as part as this disease? With there is constipation for which we treat with alot of meds. Molly has numerous food sensitivities for which she has done great as long as we avoid the foods (wheat, peanut, milk and egg) No problem. then about 3 weeks ago she started with diarrhea and we thought it was a virus and but it hasn't stopped. She has had her stool tested and there is no bacteria but we are awaiting fat tests becuase it looked fatty. It poors out of her. 6-7 times a day. Any help would be appreciated. I really don't think it is a virus. Dawn
Guest guest
Darla, It appears that her food sits a long time in her stomache but once it hits her intestines it runs right through. What can you do for that? It may not be dumping syndrome per say. So it's kind of slow gastric emptying then fast bowels??? Crazy> I know I have to get her to the GI this week. Her butt is so sore. Thanks, Dawn
Guest guest
We have seen the benefit of increasing Zipporrah's Carnitine as well and Dr. Whiteman said it is because the Carnitine haelp with absorption. Guest guest
Dumping syndrome actually includes both fast and slow gastric emptying. If you research it online you will learn a lot of helpful information on the topic. One thing I learned when we first started thinking she had the problem was that a person can even go from too fast to too slow of emptying. We use Imodium to slow down Zipporrah's motility. It has worked wonderfully. As far as how to make it go quicker, I am not sure what works so the doc is the best bet for you. Guest guest
Concerning the soar bottom, have you tried different types of butt creams to really give a protective layer between the bowel movement and the skin. We have found that hospitals make great paste forms and that Calamaseptine (spelling is off) also works great. Another thing we have found that helps is using wipes NOT bought as they burn too much. With the diarrhea often comes so much acidic content that it really breaks down the bottom quickly. Hope she starts doing better soon and you find something to stop the diarrhea.
