Subject: [ ] LISTENING THERAPY OR AUDITORY INTERGRATION

TRAINING

Hi to all,

Anyone tried these therapies and had good results? Some friends I have

in Sweden are going to try AIT and I was wondering if any of you had

experiences with any.

Thank you

Antonitsa

Hi!

I have been wondering about the same thing. I went to Dynamic Listening website

and that led me to Integrated Listening Systems

which talks in depth about this approach. I don't know whether to try this

either: It will cost me $6,000 & seems like it may or may not work ( Tomatis: a

little iffy?)

Let me know what you hear!

Thanks,

Tara

OKAY....

I just went to the site of Integrated Listening.

I don't want to offend anyone who may use and just LOVE this program but again,

$6,000 seems like an outragious price.... I would hate to see you get taken

advantage of before you shopped around a little.

The home ipod bone conduction version uses the exact same headphones as the TLP

bone conduction version AND you can buy the balance board, bean bags & exercise

book at Balametrics for a reasonable price or even go to walmart and then order

the balametrics workbook.

In addition for balance exercises, I have heard that the exercise DVD's at

Bel-A-Vis are wonderful for those who do not have access to an OT or other home

therapy for balance and coordination. http://www.bal-a-vis-x.com/index.htm

Personally, unless I am missing something important..... you are being severely

overcharged! I have to question the provider.... We have had a few situations

in the past on this board where moms were going to providers who wanted close to

$5,000 for regular TLP..... a crazy price imo!

AIT was a fabulous intervention for my son. We decided, after much

research, the Berard method was the only way we wanted to go. We did

20 sessions over 10 days in Rhode Island. Cost was $1300.
