Part of the reason is that it is far too common for the purse to become separated from the patient. Even if they DO retrieve the purse, there are far too many people who would accuse rescue folks of theft, so they are unlikely to even open the purse, let alone search it for a card. One think you can do is perhaps pin a MedicAlert emblem to your bra so it would be found? Wear a necklace outside your clothing? Do you do better with some metals than others?
