Hi Everybody....

I found out today by default that I'm down 100# since the start of my

journey. Why default you say....? Well I woke up this morning with

a knot in my groin area that hurt like heck so I saw my PCP and she

determined that it was a hernia. She was worried that the intestine

was still in the tear which would require emergency surgery so I

asked her to call Doctor Baggs for a consult. I was lucky enough to

be seen by Doctor Baggs and he determined that the intestine was

popping back into the abdomen so he wasn't going to need to do

emergency surgery today but that I would need to get it done soon.

Well...the good doctor checked the surgery schedule and guess what?

There was an opening on Monday at 2PM so now I know how I'll be

spending my Monday...LOL. I remembered that when I had my CT scan

prior to my WLS the technician mentioned that I had a small hernia

that wasn't really a problem at this time (that was November) so

Doctor Baggs is going to fix that one at the same time...a two for

one laproscopic procedure.

On the plus side, I'm sure that after losing the 100# it is going to

be a lot easier on me (and Dr. Baggs) than if I was still 318# and

I'm sure my recovery time will be less as well. I will only be off

work for about a week so that's pretty quick considering that normal

open hernia surgery recovery time is somewhere around six weeks.

One thing I know from having my WLS done by Dr. Baggs at Richmond

Kaiser is I will be in good hands.

Regards,

Gordy
