Guest guest
Pam, Thanks for the update, and blessings to you on your surgery date! I'll be praying for you. You know, I have to have faith that things will work out. They always have, particularly when I look back at my life, I can feel the finger tips of God on my shoulders pointing me in the right direction. I wonder how it will be when I look back at this period of my life in 20 years. I wonder if any of these guys (hopefully one of them) will be standing next to me. The choice between Maurizio and , however, gets a bit more complicated. Last night, (nurse, old date, now just a friend...I guess) called and we have plans to have dinner tonight. It's weird, however. and I see each other more now than when we were dating, and he's allowed me further into his life--he made me dinner at his place last week, and I met his ex (with whom he still lives). Those were both big firsts in our developing friendship. Then another old flame called last night-- (French teacher). He disappeared for about a month, and I thought he was one of those guys who just disappear, and you never hear from them again. Then he calls and wants to get together next week. is 33 years old, which is 9 years younger than me. Doesn't seem like much, but I've never dated guys younger than me. And Maurizio is 38, but at least that's closer to me in age. So just when I think the dating-go-round is going to slow down enough for me to catch my breath, it speeds up. I never, EVER thought I would be dating this much. Who would have thunk it? Then there's Alasdair. Alasdair and I met last year while training for the National AIDS Half Marathon. Alasdair is from Scotland. He's tall, blond, very handsome, blue-eyed, perfect smile, delicious accent, and he's also got a PhD like Maurizio and . (What is it with me and the doctors?) Alasdair and I were emailing back and forth, and I asked him to pick a " date " for us to reunite with our old pace group. He writes back, " Francisco, I'd LOVE to have a date with you! Then we can invite the girls to join us some other time. " My jaw dropped when I read it. I even asked the opinion of others to see if I was reading it right. So who will it be? Maurizio? ? ? ? Alasdair? Just writing this out tires me out in one way, but excites me in another. How could I ever have imagined 3 years ago that my life would be like this? My buddy Troy calls me " date-o-matic. " However, like Eleanor, I'll be glad when this " fun " is over and just a sweet memory. Then I can settle down with that one guy, make a nice home, and maybe adopt a needy child (maybe even name her Robynn?) and attend church as a happy little family every Sunday. Geez, if I'm dreaming I might as well add in the white picket fense too. LOL! Best of luck to you with your surgery Pam! Guest guest
Francisco, you are too much. You emails are a trip (it means nothing bad so don't think like that). It seems like something out of one of those romance novels or something. I tell you between you and Robynn, if you keep up this way, I won't have to purchase another book (I am smiling). Well, I really can't advise you on what to do and I am not sure what to tell you about reading into anything that people say because I am the queen of reading into stuff. You know, you just want to make sure you are hearing the person correctly especially if it is something that you did not expect. I mean you don't want to get your feelings hurt or be embarrassed or something like that. I am so sure that you will eventually find that one person for you but until you do, enjoy your life and be careful as to not allow your heart to be too open to get hurt. Getting hurt is part of the process in life. That is what helps up to become a stronger individual. I know you understand what I am saying so I will leave it at that. Thank you for your well wishes for my surgery. I am just ready to get it over with and although I have a very high tolerance for pain, something tells me that I will probably not being saying this post surgery (lol). Well, not at least the first week anyway. Nonetheless, I have to go through this little storm of pain to get to the finish line. Be encouraged and always be prayerful because you know just like I know that God will keep you steered in the right direction. Just ask God for some understanding and, patience and more importantly...WISDOM. I wish you well. And thanks for everything.
