Hi,

Mine were recently elevated but it was not related to surgery. They were looking for problems with the gallbladder. Elevated LFT's can mean many things not related to surgery. It is a test to see how your liver is functioning. It can happen when there is an infection present in your body. It is something that you will need to discuss with your PCP.

Has anyone found that their ALT is elevated? If so, is this unusual

post surgery? I've read the literature on the web, but not associated

with bariatric surgery.

This can happen from your gallbladder, some medicines and other things. Check with your PCP, it doesn't have to relate to post surgery. Take care. Talk is cheap. Use Yahoo! Messenger to make PC-to-Phone calls. Great rates starting at 1¢/min.

A high protein diet can cause an elevated ALT. It probably just mkeans

you're doing everything right, but make sure your PCP notes it and

keeps an eye on it.
