Guest guest
, you need to eat something dense that is going to stay in your stomach. Your body could be thinking that you are trying to starve it if you are feeling those hunger pains. Even though you are giving it the proper nutrition it can still play tricks on you and you should know that. I am not knocking the shakes they are good but food is good too and your body wants some food. Eat things like chicken that is high in protein or fish I think that it will make a difference. They will help keep the hunger at bay longer and be more satisfying. Ramona
Guest guest
Ok For all the new comers: I had open RNY on 8/19/03. I dropped to 150. I bounced back to 160 and am currently between 163 and 167. Ive been trying to do just protein shakes during the day and a small protein dinner to try to get back down. Im not doing very well. By 3 PM I cant seem to satisfy and control my cravings...especially sugar and carbs. 1. I need to get back exercising...its been about a month. 2. Ive been off starbucks since Feb 28 and it hasnt made a difference! I need ideas...please!! Im getting really really frustrated. --- End forwarded message ---
Guest guest
I have found that when I have a sweet craving, to grab a sweet protein bar such as Glenny's. It tastes like a candy bar, and next to no sugar and tons of carbs! Diane Duenas wrote: OkFor all the new comers: I had open RNY on 8/19/03. I dropped to 150. Guest guest
Tons of carbs is NOT a good thing! The only exception I would personally accept is if it's all or almost all fiber. If the majority of the carbs are sugar alcohols, those have their own problems. In a lot of us, they can have a variety of effects, including diarrhea, triggering sugar cravings, screwing up blood sugar levels, TOXIC flattus. Guest guest
I seem to have the same problem and I am trying to lose my pre-op weight. I eat well all day and by the evening time I feel famished. Where can you buy these? Guest guest
What nights do you go to college? Are your nights free? Next Monday the 27th is our ez Support, but then Wednesday the 29th I am starting a water exercise class in Antioch from 7-8pm. I will go every Monday and Wednesday, except the Monday that is support group. So you can join me and Joni (the friend you went to the movies with). A exercise get away from the house night, hey Barbara you can come too. The pool is heated and inside. T. now you know the nights I'll be there, you can meet us too. Anyone else want to come. The rest of the days I do my treadmill, eliptical, walking and crunches. Soon I'm buying a bicycle for nice weather time. So just some thought for anyone in the exercise mood. Take care. Also thanks for posting about Gordy. Donna J. Diane Duenas wrote: OkFor all the new comers: I had open RNY on 8/19/03. I dropped to 150. Guest guest
Sometimes when I have a sweet or just food craving, I eat a bite or two of one of those high protein bars. I don't eat the whole thing, just a bite or two - very slowly - just enough to satisfy. One brand I bought is called " Think Thin " and it has 20 g protein, 24 g carb, 8 g fat and NO sugars or sugar alcohol (sugar alcohol is what really makes me dump!). I mostly look for bars that have nearly as much protein or more protein than carb and very low sugar alcohol. I feel it's much better than eating those high sugar/calorie snacks that the skinny people in my office bring to share. --Sandi -- In gastric-bypass-support-kaiser- patients , " Diane Duenas " wrote: > > > > Ok > > For all the new comers: I had open RNY on 8/19/03.
