Guest guest
Nice to see you back Francisco, and I'm so glad you surpassed your minimum sponsorship goal! Ron Francisco's Marathon Update--April 6, 2006 Dear Sponsors and Friends:Well, I've got great news! Thanks to my generous sponsors, I've surpassed the minimum sponsorship goal of $1700 to complete the National AIDS Marathon Training Program.Total raised to date: $2,350.00San Francisco AIDS Marathon Team Total: $416,715.00A special thank-you to all of you who made it possible: Lam, Mona Wentling, Valley Relocation & Storage, Atlantis Black, Tamra Doughty, lba Peña, Gemma Nimedez Arbas, Steve Blow, Weiss, Hilda Losada, Vizoso, Al Carbonetti, Ron Hagar, Ron Roberson, Peggy Moser, Kaiser, G Agar, Peggy Zavala, Kathy Pelayo, Gordon Sexton, Camozzi, Lyle Burkard, Shadow Morton, Joe Iser, Esther , Wagner, Janet Yabut-Balolong, Roman, DeSimone, Benita , Dueñas, Barbara Hillis, Warren Boyd, Leo Fernandez, Ma, Serrano, Norah Ojeda, Ernesto Andalis, & Joyce Caravayo, Steve Drew, and Craig Olson. My training has been going great! Two weeks ago, we ran 12 miles. It was a fantastic run through the Marina, Cow Hollow, Russian Hill, the Financial District, Nob Hill, Pacific Heights, Presidio Heights, the Richmond District, the Presidio and Crissy Field. Coach popped out of nowhere on California St as we ran up to the Fairmont Hotel, then past Grace Cathedral. Last week, we ran a mere 6 miles to recover (I say "mere" tongue-in-cheek). This Saturday, we'll be pushing even further ahead—14 miles! We'll run through Golden Gate Park and the surrounding area. I've temporarily stopped the heavy cross training for two weeks as recommended, but I'll start up again after the 14 miles. I've been told that this is a way to "trick" your body into further performance and endurance, but also, as recommended, I've kept up my maintenance runs of 3 – 4 miles each twice a week. I still find it amazing that my pace group and I have such fun on the long runs, chatting, laughing and checking out all the hot runners we see along the way.If you'd still like to sponsor me, you can contact me for details. Thanks again to all for your financial and moral support,Francisco Caravayo2005 Half Marathon FinisherLoser of 153 lbsWinner of a new life
Guest guest
That is awesome, awe inspiring. I have had a picture in my head for years of being able to run. Looking forward to possibly doing that one of these days. You are an inspiration Francisco. BBQ Man wrote: Nice to see you back Francisco, and I'm so glad you surpassed your minimum sponsorship goal!
