Guest guest
Hi e, This doesn't sound like sarcoidosis. It sounds like you've gotten in to something that is triggering an allergic reaction. The dry cough is right for sarcoidosis-- but the rest isn't. I'd be getting it checked out i have another question hi everyone hope your week is going well. today has been a rough day since i woke up. i have been having the dry sarc cough since about 6:30 this morning. i took some cough medicine and did my inhalers this morning but nothing seems to help. after the first round with the cough i got a very red itchy sarcoidosis bump under my chin of all places. an i have two new little spots on my neck. the bad part about the cough is really wears me out and i'm getting pain in my shoulders. i don't mean to complain or sound winey. but i'm new to all of these symptoms. the good news is my white count is down a little . if anyone can help me with these questions as of how to eleveate some of these symptoms. i'd greatly appreciate. thanks so much martine

Guest guest
You were talking about the red itchy bumps that just came up out of the blue. This sounds more like hives than sarcoidosis. Generally, sarcoidosis doesn't come up as bumps-- but we do get a rash -- more the erthymous nodosum (sp) and it will cover large areas like the shins of your legs. EN makes your skin cells look enlarged, and it generally painless-- sometimes it does make the small nerve fibres burn, and be very sensitive. But the itchy bumps that just come up-- that is hives. Have you had any different foods, used a different laundry detergent, or shampoo or hand lotion? How about fresh fruit or veges-- do you wash them before you eat them-- as allergic reactions can easily come from pesticide or fertilizers that can be on our foods. Have you taken any herbal supplements or vitamins that you've not had previously? These are all things to think about-- and can make a difference. Hope this helps, Tracie NS Co-owenr/moderator i have another question hi everyone hope your week is going well. today has been a rough day since i woke up. i have been having the dry sarc cough since about 6:30 this morning. i took some cough medicine and did my inhalers this morning but nothing seems to help. after the first round with the cough i got a very red itchy sarcoidosis bump under my chin of all places. an i have two new little spots on my neck. the bad part about the cough is really wears me out and i'm getting pain in my shoulders. i don't mean to complain or sound winey. but i'm new to all of these symptoms. the good news is my white count is down a little . if anyone can help me with these questions as of how to eleveate some of these symptoms. i'd greatly appreciate. thanks so much martine
Guest guest
I have to agree that the bumps sound more like an allergic reaction than sarc. However, sarc does sometimes present as small, hard bumps, often red or purple in color. The bumps typically don't itch but they may be very painful. I usually get these on my fingers, head, eyes and neck (confirmed by biopsy)...hope you feel better e. > > From: tracie feldhaus <tiodaat2001@ yahoo.com> > Subject: Re: i have another question > To: Neurosarcoidosis@ yahoogroups. com > Date: Tuesday, August 5, 2008, 8:33 PM > > > Hi e, > This doesn't sound like sarcoidosis. Guest guest
hi Tony thanks for the advice. i appreciate. alot of this is all very very new to me. this is only my second year with sarcoidosis and i'm not being treated for it yet. hopefully i will be after i see the specialist in Michigan on August 20. i do have a red bump on the front area near my neck. all of my doctors have informed me that it is a sarcoidosis bump and the bumps i have been getting on my right arm are sarcoid related also. with having no immune system at all now and not even the antibody infusions anymore i'm prone to alot of things now. i really feel for the doctors who get me as their patient because i'm always the challenge. lol sincerely martine Subject: Re: i have another questionTo: Neurosarcoidosis Date: Wednesday, August 6, 2008, 12:38 PM I have to agree that the bumps sound more like an allergic reaction than sarc. Guest guest
I get those red bumps on my face and neck, too, but they eventually go away. Most of the time it's best just to leave them alone or you'll just make them worse. Don't itch them. Mine are usually quite painful to the touch. I have to keep the humidity high for my lungs and so my throat doesn't dry up and makes the coughing worse. I also suffer from dry mouth. I have three small fans where you put water in them and then the fan sends cooler air out but the air is also more moisturized. Sarc and some meds dry the throat out. I also use Biotene products for dry mouth. That also helps with dryness. And i chew a lot of sugar free gum to keep the salivary glands working better. Sugar free candies also help coat the throat and relieve dryness. I also have trouble swallowing at times. It's sarc and the dryness... so drink up! Lots and lots of water. Hang in there and take care of yourself. S. 29:11, For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Guest guest
first of all it's OK to complain here:) I have had that cough it's so annoying and the only way I got rid of it was with steroids, nothing else worked at all. and I have Sarc bumps all over and different kinds, the only I have found that works at all is called " Protopic " it's an Rx, my insurance company didn't pay and it cost me $100 a tube but well worth it, it takes away the burn, the itch, and just settles them down for me, I tend to pick at them, not a good idea. anyway I notice I have more of them and worse symptoms when I'm tired. I have lesions of different types all over my body, I'm sure they are all sarcoid. I hope you can get some relief, maybe your doctor can prescribe the Protopic ointment for you. I have been dealing with sarcoid for 13 years now, and neuroSarc for over 5. I am on Remicade now and was hoping it would help with the bumps, but it hasn't, howevercan't really complain as it has helped with much worse symptoms, like thinking clearly for a change. I hope you found this information helpful, please ask away, or rant away anytime. Guest guest
hi Marla sorry for my late reply. thank you so much for all your info. i am really learning alot from everyone's situation in the group. Sarcoidosis really is different for everybody. i will definetly talk with my doctor about Protopic because i get the bumps alot lately and in different places. they itch like crazy. the cough is rough. just not use to it when i get into a bad spell of it. it really wares me out. i'm so thankful that i found this group and that there are people out there who are understanding what i'm going through physically. it helps a great deal. i'm seeing a specialist in Ann Arbor, Michigan on August 20. i'm getting a little nervous because i'm worried its going to be the same routine i always get. which is there isn't anything they can do because my situation is complicated. i just hope this time the specialist will prescribe a treatment for me. many blessings martine hi everyone hope your week is going well. today has been a rough day since i woke up. i have been having the dry sarc cough since about 6:30 this morning. i took some cough medicine and did my inhalers this morning but nothing seems to help. after the first round with the cough i got a very red itchy sarcoidosis bump under my chin of all places. an i have two new little spots on my neck. the bad part about the cough is really wears me out and i'm getting pain in my shoulders. i don't mean to complain or sound winey. but i'm new to all of these symptoms. the good news is my white count is down a little . if anyone can help me with these questions as of how to eleveate some of these symptoms. i'd greatly appreciate. thanks so much martine-- Marla Bramer Independent Beauty Consultant Kaymbramer (AT) marykay (DOT) com www.marykay. com 'I know the plans I have for you, declared the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you; Plans to give you a future and a hope
