Guest guest
We've been dealing w/ a sinus infection and it just suddenly hit him again. I dont know what to do about it i am so worried about school next year and his health and damage to his lungs and immunity to antibiotics. He got it while on augmentin even. Ugh so i get to do round the clock nebs again . This dr. is afraid to send him to kindergarden. He thinks he is medically fradgile to go. He wants him kept from all the germs. I dont want him to be a bubble boy. Makes me wonder if hes going through all this whats his quality of life going to be? i am trying my best to keep his life as normal as possible, its hard. How do u not cry when he wants friends and u know its so hard for him to make them and keep them cause hes sick so much . What is the policy on home service at school age? queensbury said they're very hard to get . mom to zach 4, ga2 alexis 6 Yahoo! Messenger Show us what our next emoticon should look like. Guest guest
Man, I am sorry to hear he is ill again. How frustrating to keep having his illnesses get to the point of pneumonia so easily. Hope this one passes quickly and the docs can figure out a good antibiotic to use that will help him better. Don't feel that home schooling will cause your son to be " in a bubble. " You can still take him places and do things and even try to get him together with small groups of children somewhere else at a planned event that you know that noone else is ill. Day cares and schools are breading grounds for viruses and if he can't handle being there, then it is best to not go that route. We have had to keep Asenath and Zipporrah away from church nurseries for the past several years and I know how difficult it is to not allow them to go when they really want to, but if it causes them to be ill then it just isn't worth it. We plan to home school Asenath as well as I know she would get ill too easily and I wish she weren't so fragile like that too... Guest guest
-He I'm sorry Zach's sick again. Has he had a sputum culture? They suction him through his nose into his lung and then culture the gunk. That's how they diagnosed 's fungal pneumonia. Maybe this is recurrence of the pneumonia he's had all along and he needs something super duper to fight it. Can he cough? Guest guest
Sorry to hear Zachs ill, again. He should easily qualify for home services, especially with the doctor bringing it up. They have considered Grace for home school, and she rarely gets sick. For her just the thought of a stomach flu and her protocall of IV fluids was enough. I think we are going to at least try preschool since she, thankfully, seems to have a good immune system. We are going to write in her IEP that Purell, and disinfecting wipes must be used regularly even if I have to provide them. We are also going to write that we must be informed of ANY illness in the classroom regaring the severity. We will make sure the faculty understands her medical needs and see how it goes. Maybe you could try to form a playgroup or something for Zach. Grace goes to one at our counties MR/DD school. There are strict standards not allowing a child to come who has been ill, or exposed to illness. The toys and equiptment is sterilized regularly. For her it gives her the social time, in a safe environment. Best wishes With MSN Spaces email straight to your blog. Upload jokes, photos and more. It's free!
